We're back

Image
We have not posted anything for a couple of days. We had no signal, but we got to camp in a truly breathtaking place. Green River Lakes Campground in northwest Wyoming. Christy's family rents a cabin there and invited us to stop by. Some of them went fishing, some hiking, and some stayed in the cabim and did jigsaw puzzles. Plenty of catching up. Tonight finds us near Idaho Falls. We might meet Dale and Linda Shearer, my daughter's in laws. I have mot seen them for several years. That should be fun. Stay tuned.

Visiting

Image
Yesterday we had a great time visiting friends and relaxing. Started the day breaking bread with Christy's former boss Joe and his wife Susan. They had very interesting stories to tell. Christy and Joe compared notes and exchanged gossip about what has happened in the company since they left. We then had some time defore our next engagement so we stopped by Liberty park and relaxed for a couple of hours. The park has a pond in the middle and trails around it for walking, running, etc. Then we went to Gardner Village, an old mill converted to a shopping experience, with many boutiques and stores. And finally we had dinner with Christy's friends Angie and David. Again plenty of stories and gossip were exchanged. We had planned to spend the night at Echo Canyon rest area but it was getting late and I was pretty tired so we opted for the next best thing, Walmart. Let's see what tomorrow brings. Stay tuned.

Homesick already???

José asked "Hey Google where is the nearest Walmart?" and was directed to a drug store. He said, "Ah man, I miss Alexa!"

Meeting another Christy

Image
We took the dogs for a walk after dinner from Kenny Ray's (chicken fried steak too spicy for José) and a woman passing on the sidewalk asked "what town am I in?"  After a good laugh she explained she had gone through so many towns that she had lost track of where she was.  We spent the next half hour telling how to get to Bryce, Zion and the North Rim.  She was from Maryland, traveling alone, doing some tent camping and motel stays. Very nice lady.  When I introduced myself she reacted by asking how I spell Christy.  Turns out she is also a Christy.

On the road again

We were ahead of schedule on the planning and organizing the trip. So we decided to leave Monday evening instead of Tuesday. We did not want to get far on this first day, just to Panguitch, which is about 70 miles from Kanab. We are staying in the parking lot of a friend's hotel. So far we are happy with the way things are working out. The RV is working great, the dogs are traveling well.  So far so good. Stay tuned.

Getting ready

Image
Our time these days is spent planning and organizing our next trip. Christy has a great checklist of things to do and things to bring. The dogs, Maguire and Fiona, are coming with us. The cat is staying behind to guard the house.  Feel free to leave a comment to wish us bon voyage or to give us recommendations of things to see along the way. Stay tuned.
